Huerta de los Jesuitas Park (Birds and Botany)

The green areas of cities often serve a multitude of activities. Leisure, sport, recreation, rest or just take a walk. Sometimes these humanized gardens provide a stop in the migration of some birds, such as the Torcecuellos, the common Thrush, the Royal Redstart or the musical Flycatcher

For other species, however, they are a good place to raise their offspring, such as the Hawfinch, the Common Blackbird, the Sparrow miller or even the Little Owl.

Huerta de los Jesuitas Park is undoubtedly the largest oasis of life within the capital of Salamanca, second only to the urban stretch of the Tormes River. Its numerous and varied gardens house a good diversity of trees and shrubs that we will also know in this route on foot.

These offer enough shelter and food for the more than 100 species of birds that have been observed over the last 20 years in the place.
