Winter Acuatic Birds

Water is synonymous with life. The wetlands of the interior of the peninsula contain an important quantity and diversity of species linked to the aquatic environment. Whether at feeding time, reproducing or sheltering from the cold winter days, these places are one of the main attractions for the observation of many species of birds.

Of all of them, ducks are one of the most striking bird families, due to the intense shades of the plumage of the males.

On this route, we will be able to observe the contingents of these birds, mostly Central-European that overwinter in the humid areas of the province of Salamanca. Common pochards, Mallards, Common Teals,  European Whistles and Spoons, Tufted Ducks and even some Pintail will be the protagonists of the activity.

In addition we can find species as beautiful as the Great Crested Grebe, the Little Grebe, the Kingfisher, the Common Snipe or the elegant Great Egret among others.
